STEAMBOAT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: CELEBRATING SANT’AMBROGIO

Presented by the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra

Join the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra for a night to remember, as we “play” tribute to Mentor, Friend, and Steamboat Springs icon, John Sant’Ambrogio.

Thirty years ago, Ernest Richardson received a call from John, the Principal Cellist of the famed St. Louis Symphony. He spoke with unbridled enthusiasm about Steamboat Springs and his music festival inviting Ernest to join him that summer. This would be the start of a very special connection between the Steamboat Symphony and John Sant’Ambrogio. This performance will feature Elgar’s Cello Concerto performed by Sara Sant’Ambrogio (John’s daughter – about whom he says “She’s teaching me how to play the cello.”) We will also experience one of John’s favorite symphonies, Tchaikovsky’s 4th in all its power and promise as we honor friend and mentor John Sant’Ambrogio. The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra is a 501c3 non-profit, whose mission is to inspire the human spirit through outstanding orchestral experiences by providing inspiring performances and educating musicians from all walks of life. Creatively led by Music Director and Conductor extraordinaire Ernest Richardson, the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra is a beloved institution woven deep in the fabric of the diverse Yampa Valley.

*Early pricing for adults ends 2/28/25. Student pricing applies to tiers 2 & 3 only.
