Volunteers are instrumental to our success.

As a non-profit organization, Strings Music Festival relies on the generosity and support of our community to make our programs a success. We are able to bring world-class concerts and events to the Steamboat community year-round thanks to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.

Why Volunteer with Strings?

Not only will you have the opportunity to see incredible concerts and connect with other music-lovers, but you will also play a vital role in bringing joy and entertainment to our community.

We aim to make volunteering enjoyable and meaningful for our Community Volunteers. You can choose the events and roles that best suit your comfort level and interests. We understand that everyone has busy schedules and we want you to feel able to fit volunteering into your life in a way that works for you. Whether you are able to volunteer for one event or many, we appreciate your support and welcome your help.

Volunteer Roles & Shifts

From greeting and directing guests, to assisting with ticketing and merchandise, our volunteers are an integral part of the team that makes Strings Music Festival happen.
  • Ticket Scanners welcome guests to Strings Music Pavilion and scan tickets for everyone entering the venue.
  • Ushers direct guests to their seats and assist with any other needs or questions they may have during the performance.
  • Merch Sellers assist Strings staff in selling official artist merchandise, including handling transactions.
  • Will Call Attendants distribute tickets to guests who have purchased them in advance at the box office.
  • Promoters work with our marketing team to put event flyers around town at local businesses and community spaces. (new role!)

Shifts

Volunteer shifts typically begin one hour before showtime. After a briefing from the House Manager, volunteers take their positions in time to open doors. At showtime, volunteers are able to enjoy the music while assisting audience members as needed. At the conclusion of the show, volunteers assist with cleaning up and closing the Pavilion.

Dress Code

As a volunteer, it is important to present a professional image. Volunteers wear the provided black Strings vest and name-tag at all events. We ask that volunteers wear a solid white or black shirt or dress under the vest and solid, neutral color slacks or skirt. Close-toed shoes are a must!
