Event Details

Look. Learn. Listen. This unique program is a collaboration between Strings Music Festival and Yampatika. The evening will feature visiting Young Artists, 511 Brass, playing classical and celestial themed music. Throughout the evening, CMC Professor Paul McCudden will teach basic astronomy as the sun sets and stars rise in the summer night sky. Telescopes will be onsite for stargazing in what will be a magical evening outdoors.
For an enjoyable evening, remember to bring a light jacket or sweater. Seating are folding chairs onsite at the historic Legacy Ranch, so please feel free to bring camp chairs or blankets to picnic, and wear good shoes for walking on uneven ground. Coffee and tea will be available for a small donation, and you are welcome to bring your own beverages to enjoy throughout the program, including beer or wine.
Rain Policy: In the event of poor weather, you will be notified by 5:30 p.m. by email by a Strings or Yampatika representative of event cancellation. It will also be posted on both organization websites. Due to the uniqueness of the event and its logistics, the event will not be rescheduled and ticket buyers will receive a full refund.
Location: Legacy Ranch in Steamboat Springs, CO
Parking: Yampatika will shuttle all participants from the US Forest Service building at 925 Weiss Drive beginning at 6 p.m. Shuttles will depart the Forest Service building at 7 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. event. Patrons who have a handicapped sticker may arrange on-site parking by calling Yampatika at 970.871.9151. No individual parking on-site at the ranch.
