Loras Schissel, conductor
Library of Congress Musicologist Loras Schissel returns
to Strings, conducting a program that celebrates American
dance music from the Ragtime Era to the Roaring 20s.
Led by Vijay Gupta of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the
festival orchestra features principal players from The
Cleveland Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and
Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Wear your best cloche or
bowler hats, and prepare to tap the night away to the
Charleston and other favorites.
