WHAT: Professional Artist Residency with Middle and High School Bands

WHEN: Fall and Winter/Spring

STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN:

  • 3 in-school workshops with professional musicians
  • Learn special music arrangements
  • Monthly video communication between professional musicians and band students
  • 1 field trip with the band, for student peers, at the Pavilion
  • 1 community concert with the band at the Pavilion
  • Mentoring relationships with professional artists

The name for this program is inspired by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the renowned Austrian composer. Mozart’s command of form and ability to write in multiple genres resulted in 600+ works and recognition as one of the greatest composers in Western music.
